Our COVID-19 Practices
Henderson Family Law remains open to serve our clients, as well as those who may require our legal assistance during the pandemic. We are committed to providing effective legal representation in a sensitive and cost-effective manner.
Rest assured that we are taking precautions to address COVID-19 on several fronts, based on recommendations released by Health Canada and the Thunder Bay District Health Unit:
(1) We are following rigorous safety precautions in our office, such as enhanced cleaning protocols including the frequent cleaning and sanitizing of all areas of our office, especially high-touch areas, as well as frequent hand-washing and use of hand sanitizer, and we are honouring physical-distancing protocols;
(2) We are reducing the number of in-office visits with clients wherever possible and, instead, are taking advantage of other technologies such as telephone consultations and video conferencing (including Zoom, Skype, FaceTime and Facebook Messenger). If you have an appointment with us, please contact us in advance to discuss available options. The City of Thunder Bay has closed our building (the Whalen Building, 34 Cumberland Street North), so you will need to contact us ahead of time at (807) 344-2400 if you do have an appointment at our office. For in-office meetings that do occur, we offer the option that masks be worn by those at the meeting.
We review our policies and procedures regularly to ensure that we remain as up-to-date as possible. Doing our part in providing our community with the best possible service and care in these unprecedented times is important to us. We recognize that, as a law firm that provides only family law services, many of our existing clients live in precarious circumstances and these situations often involve children. Additionally, one of the unfortunate fallouts of this pandemic has been an increase in family conflict and, with this, those who require urgent legal assistance in matters involving domestic violence, withholding of children, and financial vulnerability.
If you have any questions about our policies, office hours, your matter or any appointments with us, please don’t hesitate to contact us at any time at (807) 344-2400, or you may visit our website at hendersonfamilylaw.ca.
Please take care of yourself and each other,
Timothy Henderson
