Helen Baxter
B.A. (Hons.), J.D.
My favourite part of family law is achieving meaningful results for clients and seeing the positive impact for them and their family. I first joined Henderson Family Law as a summer law student in 2023, later completing a four-month placement at the firm as part of my law degree. During this time, I was exposed to a broad-range of legal issues and received many opportunities to assist clients under the mentorship of senior counsel.
Before joining Henderson Family Law, I completed my law degree at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law in Thunder Bay. During my studies, I was a dean’s fellow (T.A.), editor for the Lakehead Law Journal, and a student caseworker at Lakehead University Community Legal Services (LUCLS). Prior to law school, I studied philosophy and English literature at the University of Toronto and worked as a legal assistant at a family law firm in my hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and exploring the coast of Lake Superior, as well as travelling, baking for friends and family, and spending time with my kitten, Felix.
